With the support of mentors and partners, the teams received feedback and know-how on their business models, corporate readiness, dealing with investors and intensive pitch training. Especially exciting is the collaboration with the Plug&Play Accelerator from Silicon Valley, whereby the northern German teams were accompanied during this week and sent valuable experience from the Silicon Valley mindset to Schleswig-Holstein. The prize for the StartUp Camp is a stay of several weeks in Silicon Valley with Plug&Play.

The first prize was awarded to the StartUp "encentive", founded by graduates from University of Applied Sciences in Flensburg. Encentive enables energy suppliers to flexibly distribute electricity from renewable energy sources. Using special algorithms and swarm intelligence, they artificially increase power consumption at certain times with the help of thermal plants, thus ensuring that wind turbines do not have to be shut down as often in the event of grid bottlenecks. Second place is shared by Hamburg-based startups "Frisch Gefischt GmbH" and "KOALA". Third place goes to the startup "mobOx" from Lübeck.

As a mentor, Jonas Thiesfeld from Flensburg's Dock1 incubator of Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and European University Flensburg supervised the teams of "encentive" and "KOALA".

"It is a great pleasure to accompany and support motivated startup teams in making their ideas happen! The versatility of business ideas and startup support in northern Germany is growing, and teams from Schleswig-Holstein don't need to hide at all from ideas from other startup hotspots like Berlin, Hamburg or Munich" emphasizes Thiesfeld.

All participants of the StartUp Camp have made great progress in the compact week and at the same time the Flensburg startup supporter is very pleased that the teams he supervises were awarded first and second place and are allowed to travel to Silicon Valley.

In addition to the startup support on the Flensburg campus for students and alumni, Dock1 of VentureWærft is a network partner in the StartUp SH association to lift and promote startup potential in Schleswig-Holstein.
