At the beginning of business activities, start-ups are facing the problem, that customers and stakeholders have to be convinced; usually this is done through pitches or presentations of one's own business model. In order to leave a positive impression, this ProLab teached how to make FlipCharts attractive and appealing. The participants learned basic forms for constructing icons, large format writing and the design of figures and text frames.

The course instructor Birgit Merkt is a teacher at the Eckener Schule Flensburg. Not only, she has 30 years of teaching experience, but also she has been familiar with the topic FlipChart Design for 20 years.

More precisely, the participants learned  how to hold the special pens in order to obtain a clean type and drawing image on metaplan walls. In addition to the guided writing technique, the individual creativity of the participants is encouraged in order to skilfully stage their future presentations and to generate attention.

Key learnings of the participants:

  • The instructions and exercises can be used to design individual posters based on basic shapes and colors
  • Creativity can increase the attention of the posters by the selection and connection of different icons
  • Combining large format writing with icons is easier to remember than just text

In exchange with the course instructor, the individual skills were developed and learning success was illustrated by before/after comparisons! Many thanks to our course instructor Birgit Merkt and the diligent participants!
