A total of eight projects from the Flensburg campus are being funded with up to 2000 euros each in the 11th yooweedoo ideas competition. Seven projects were supported by Dock1, the joint institution of Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF) and Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (HSF) for students and employees on all matters relating to self-employment, sustainable projects and innovative start-up projects. Two projects originate from the EUF's Master's programme in Transformation Studies. All of them involve viable, sustainable and socially entrepreneurial ideas and start-ups. This is because the nationwide ideas competition yooweedoo supports sustainable and social entrepreneurial projects and start-ups with seed capital.
The funded projects from the Flensburg Campus:
- Sturm und Tatendrang. A podcast discussing and preparing applicable concepts of socio-ecological transformation. (EUF, Transformation Studies)
- Flensburg's Utopia Workshop. A podcast for dreaming of a better world. (EUF, Transformation Studies)
- LUFA Games. The development of social games on the topics of environment, climate, social justice, community or consumption. (EUF and HSF together)
- tuedelboard. Developing motor skills game boards for children by and through women. (HSF and EUF)
- fenix composites. The environmentally friendly production of carbon through recycling. (HSF)
- MaSoJa, soy milk in a deposit bottle. (EUF)
- Mushroom pot. Mushroom cultivation on coffee grounds in a pot. The project follows on from the existing project "Forest Jellyfish". (EUF and HSF together).
- Schoof & Jensen. The development of a modular cargo bike for mainly family use. (HSF).
So many projects funded for the first time:
For the first time, nine projects from Flensburg were successful in the yooweedoo ideas competition. This is a sign of how well the topic is now embedded in the degree programmes and how well the start-up and maker infrastructure has developed across the universities on the Flensburg campus. Last year, four projects were funded in the ideas competition, including the Leila loan shop, which opened in Flensburg's city centre in mid-March.
